Cozumel's reputation as a diving haven stems from its exceptional biodiversity and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, the second-largest coral reef system in the world. As your cruise ship docks at the island's port, you'll be just moments away from a submerged world teeming with life. With over 30 dive sites in Cozumel to explore we can cater to divers of all levels from beginners to advanced.

Planning Your Cozumel Cruise Dive Excursion

We have 3 options for our cruise passengers to dive with us in Cozumel.

  1. 2-Tank Boat dives for Certified Divers Only. Our morning boat trip departs from Marina Cozumel Fonatur at 9am daily. *If it has been more than 1 year since your last dive you will need to book the Refresher Dives.* To make this trip your cruise will need to arrive by 8am Cozumel time, most cruise ships arrive by this time but you will need to confirm as ship time and local time may be different. Cozumel is on Central Standard time from March until October and Eastern Standard time from November until March. When booking with us please let us know the originating port.

  2. Shore Dives. This is a great option to dive in Cozumel if your cruise will not arrive on time to make the morning 9am trip or if you are not certified and will try diving with a Discover Scuba. We can work around your schedule with our Cozumel shore diving options. This can be reserved as 1 or 2 dives. Our shore diving site is located at Tikila Beach Bar and this is a shallow site with mild currents. You can expect to see lots of reef fish, eels, small stingrays, occasional turtles or eagle rays. The coral reef restoration project nad underwater webcam is at this location.

  3. Private boat excursions. If your cruise arrives later than our scheduled departures or you want the boat for a private excursion this is the option for you. A private boat tour can be up to 10 people. When the boat is booked private you can mix Certified Divers, Discover Scuba Divers and Snorkeling. Let’s Go Dive!

There are 3 piers in Cozumel the cruse ships will port at. Punta Langosta, International Pier (SSA) and Puerta Maya. To reach us at Marina Cozumel Fonatur you will need to take a short taxi ride from either piers. Punta Langosta is approximately 15 minutes by taxi, International and Maya is approximately 5 minutes by taxi. After your dives the return taxi line will be at the same roundabout that you are dropped off at Cozumel Marina Fonatur.
